Skills & Capabilities

I sketch ideas fast, build models with care, and work comfortably in CAD or crafting visual identities. I like switching between hands-on making and digital tools, and I enjoy learning new tools that expand what I can do.

Besides my technical skills, I bring strong interpersonal abilities shaped by diverse experiences. Being multilingual has made me adaptable and good at reading people, which helps me work well with different teams and cultures.

I can create freehand and quick ideation sketches to explore and communicate ideas rapidly to technical, detailed sketches. I move easily between traditional mediums and digital sketching, when needed. Sketching is my first step in solving problems and ideating.

I’m confident in project management, teamwork, and presenting. I’ve built these skills by leading and contributing to academic projects, collaborating with diverse teams and taking on volunteer experiences. In team settings, I’ve taken both managing and supporting roles, adapting to what the situation needs.

I can bring my strengths to either position, and I work effectively both as part of a group and independently.

Clear communication is central to my process. I’m experienced in managing expectations with supervisors and clients, and I’m familiar with co-design — involving stakeholders directly in the creative process to build solutions together. These approaches help maintain trust, keep projects on track, and ensure that everyone feels engaged in the outcome.

I speak English and Persian at a native level, Turkish and Azerbaijani fluently, and Dutch proficiently. Being multilingual has strengthened my cultural awareness and ability to connect with people from different backgrounds, a skill that’s invaluable in international, multidisciplinary work.

I have experience conducting user research to keep my designs grounded in real needs and feedback. This includes data processing and thematic schema. Turning these insights into practical, creative solutions is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

Switching between design disciplines, tools, and contexts has made me adaptable and resourceful. I enjoy finding solutions that are not only functional but also thoughtful and well-suited to the people who will use them.

I designed and built this portfolio website and have worked with Java, Python, and Arduino.

While development isn’t my profession, I learn quickly and use code when it helps bring ideas to life.

I started playing classical piano at 12, which taught me discipline and commitment early on. At 18, I began learning the cello and soon after had the honour of joining the Tabriz Philharmonic Orchestra, where I performed for several years.

Later, in Enschede, I played in a concert with the Musica Silvestra Orchestra, the student symphony orchestra.

I enjoy tennis for the mix of fun and challenge it brings. Archery has taught me patience, breath control, and a sense of calm focus, while also reinforcing the value of persistence — trying, adjusting, and trying again.

I enjoy photography, capturing moments and details with whatever device I have on hand — proof that a good eye matters more than expensive equipment.
